Without a Screen: a Mirror, a Filter

a series of photographs 2017-2019

I replace anxious and repetitive behavior of reloading my digital feed with the act of exploring IRL (in real life). Using a mirror, I can compare and collapse two views of space (e.g. reflected ground in the sky). This process occurs offline and in sites of tourism. I contort and hold my body to capture these images. My physical actions are clunky, but the photographic results become fixed glimpses of the sublime.
